The Twin Lagoon is a famous attraction to visit when in Coron. It is included in most island hopping tours as the tourist spot already became an iconic summer destination even for foreigners. What I like most especially about being here are the different experiences one can do. For an instance, swimming in Coron gets interesting as the temperature of the water differs from warm to cold. This is due to the meeting of freshwater and saltwater.
August 12, 2017 – I agree with most travelers when they say that Palawan is the most beautiful island in the world. Indeed, the clear waters of Coron and the jaw-dropping scenic limestone formations draw attention from people around the globe.
The twin lagoon was the last destination on our itinerary for the day and it was, as I consider it, saving the best for last. As we went on a voyage, the hues of the ocean changes from deep blue to bright blue-green. There are no words enough to describe the magical feeling sparked by being here in this paradise.
My eyes were feasting on picturesque views at every corner. Not long after, we were already slowing down by the mouth of the first lagoon where boats dock and tourists either go kayaking or swimming to enter. Obviously, I chose to kayak and take photos of the first lagoon.
There were a lot of tourists when we got there! Boats were everywhere, but that didn’t stop us from maximizing our stay. Everyone was just enjoying the quiet time this place offered. Slowing it down was a luxury people from the city never had the money to avail. Serene and calm, I just admire the stress-relieving atmosphere of Coron.

I enjoyed just going around in circles in the first lagoon. The funny thing about our tour assistants is that they were too lively. Their energy never ran out! This guy from Amika Travel and Tours was hilarious. He kept asking, “tiga-saan po kayo?” more than twice already. Every time he’d ask, we’ll just laugh it off
Truth be told, I missed the opportunity of visiting the second lagoon. I heard that it was more beautiful than the first lagoon. Carefully tucked just behind the first, the only way to get to the second lagoon is either climb the makeshift stairs or swim underneath the limestone formations. Assisted by the guides, most tourists are encouraged to form a “floating centipede” and pass through the tiny space in between the rocks and the waters.
If you’re thinking of visiting Coron, the Twin Lagoon should not be missed! Tourists are still required to wear their life vests and be accompanied by a tour guide all the time. It is better to come here early so you may have ample time to enjoy. As for me, we kind of rushed our stay here since it was already afternoon when we arrived. Nonetheless, Coron is just 30 minutes away from Manila anyway all thanks to SkyJet Airlines. The jet service is really smooth!
