Balagbag Falls is a two-tiered waterfall in Real, Quezon. Due to its deep plunge pool, it is also widely known for the cliff jumping experience. The first level is roughly five meters high and has a deep catch basin, while the second level is about 25 meters high with its water falling into a shallow pool.
November 12, 2017 — My feet haven’t felt the exhaustion from the trek yet when the sound of the raging water came into earshot. Along with the shushing of the waterfalls were the far-flung high-pitched laughter of boys and girls who probably have been enjoying the area an hour ahead of our arrival.
The waters, at first, seemed to frighten people who wish to pass through the stream. Rocks and pebbles were scattered around, serving both as an obstacle and a track for river-crossers.
The stream falls steeply over two rocky ledges. On the left side of the first cascade is where people can climb up to the second level of the Balagbag Falls. The second level has a shallow pool and serves as the jump-off point for adrenaline-filled cliff jumpers.
Like any other falls, the -ber months is the best time to visit Balagbag Falls because of the rain season. The entrance fee per person is ₱20. There are cottages for rent should families or big groups decide to avail.
